Amendments After the WarOnce the American Civil War had ended, new amendments were made. An amendment defined as, "an article added to the US Constitution," meaning that the government's leaders had realized that the Constitution wasn't perfect. To fix their mistakes, after the war, the US government added Amendments 13, 14, and 15.
